Podiatry treatment

An array of podiatry treatments for common foot problems

Highway Foot Clinic in Coventry, Warwick and surrounds provides assessment, diagnosis and treatment for a range of conditions such as:

Calluses & corns: These are painful, unsightly and can lead to the formation of thickened skin between the toes and soles of the feet. This can be effectively treated by our podiatrist by using a surgical blade to remove thickened and dead skin.

Diabetic foot care, assessment & treatment: People suffering from diabetes need to take special care of their feet. Higher levels of blood glucose can damage the nerve endings and lead to foot ulcers, infections and Charcot joints. We can help prevent and manage foot problems caused by diabetes.

Verrucas & bunions: Verrucas cause warts and develop a layer of hard skin tissue. This can be effectively treated through cryosurgery. A bunion is a deformity of the joint connecting the big toe, this can be treated by using warm soaks, ice packs and massages.

Ingrowing toe nails: Ingrown toenails is a condition where the side of a toenail grows into the skin. This results in pain, redness and infection. This can be treated through antibiotics and removing the spike, nail edge or dry skin.

Fungal nails: This is an infection caused by fungi underneath the surface of the nail. Depending on the severity of the infection, we will create a suitable treatment plan, which may include oral medication or removal of diseased nail matter.

Thickened nails: Nails that thicken and harden as we grow older is a common complaint. The nail may turn a yellow or brown colour. We can provide careful filing and trimming, or use topical or anti-fungal treatments where necessary.

Athlete's foot & fungal skin problems: Athlete's foot and fungal skin problems can cause pain, swelling, redness and tenderness of the feet. This can be treated through oral medicines.

Plantar fasciitis: This causes stabbing or burning pain in the heels. This can be treated by our podiatrist through icing, oral medication, massages and dry needling.

Heel pain & cracked heels: Cracked heels are unsightly and painful. At Highway Foot Clinic we safely remove the dead skin, leaving you with healthy feet.

Arch problems, flat feet & gait analysis: This can cause acute pain while walking, standing and running. This is treated through physical therapy modalities such as ultrasound, wearing the correct footwear and keeping a check on your weight.

Biomechanical assessments: A biomechanical foot assessment will help you understand any abnormalities or compensations in your feet which allows us to address possible causes of heel, knee or back pain accordingly.
